Runtime Measurement

Use

The runtime measurement can help you find the optimum settings for parallel processing. You can obtain information on the relative runtime in the same way as with transaction SE30. You also receive information on technical data (for example, which server is being used and how many tasks have been processed).

Runtime measurement is intended to be used in the test and implementation phase and can also be used for targeted runtime checks in the productive operation. You should not have it permanently switched on in public operation.

Integration

You activate runtime measurement in the transaction for collective purchase order generation (WF10) on the tab page Technical parameters.

Prerequisites

You need to set up a number range (number range object WTRA_LOGNR).

If you have switched runtime measurement on you need to start program WTRA_DELETE_PROTOCOL_FROM_DB regularly in order to delete the log data again.

In order to be able to delete data, the user needs authorization (authorization object W_WTRA_LOG).

Features

You can make the settings for runtime measurement with transaction WTRA1.

You can display the results using transaction WTRA3.

You can delete the log data using transaction WTRA2.

You can set an indicator in Customizing to flags the runtime measurement logs to be retained (transaction WTRA1). The data is maintained in the view V_TWTRAS, which is not integrated in the IMG. You can test the retention indicator for the log in the deletion program. If you do not make any settings (default) the logs are not retained.
