Characteristics of the OTB Check for Delivery
Date Changes
If you change the delivery date of a schedule line that has already been through the OTB check, the system redetermines the budget assignment and executes the additional steps described below.
· If the required budget changes, the system assigns the new budget number.
· If the required budget does not change from what it was previously, the system compares the old and the new delivery dates:
¡ If the new delivery date occurs before the original delivery date, the system assigns the order document item to the new budget number.
¡ If the new delivery date occurs after the original delivery date, the system checks whether tolerance levels defined in Customizing prevent the new assignment of the budget number.
There are two settings here that you cannot use at the same time:
§ Tolerance in Workdays
If the shift in the delivery date is within the tolerance of X workdays read in Customizing, the original budget number stays assigned to the order document item.
If the date shift is outside the tolerance, the system assigns the new budget number to the order document item.
§ No Budget Determination if Delivery Period Is Changed
The system checks whether this indicator is set and whether the postponed delivery date is within the next delivery period. If both are true, the budget is not redetermined and reassigned. If not, the system assigns the new budget number to the order document item.
Comparison of the New and Original Budget Numbers
If the assignment of the budget number has changed, the system releases the budget that had already been reserved for the original budget number. After this, the required budget is compared with the available budget for the newly assigned budget number.
