Generation of a Runtime Version
You can use the modeling environment for Variant Configuration to generate runtime versions of knowledge-base objects.
For more information, see Runtime Version.
Generating a runtime version always refers to the current model data stored on the database.
You can also use the modeling environment to analyze runtime versions.
Note the prerequisites that the model must satisfy before it can be used for configuration with the Configuration Engine.
Use the context menu of the knowledge-base object in the model tree to create a runtime version for the object.
...
1. Select the knowledge-base object and use the context menu to create a runtime version.
2. Enter a name for the runtime version.
3.
Choose
.
The system opens the detailed view for the new runtime version and prompts you to enter a status, plant, and BOM application.
If you want to generate an existing runtime version, open the detailed view for the version.

To generate a runtime version with the modeling environment, proceed as follows:
...
1. Determine the status and enter a plant and the BOM application.
2.
Choose
.
3. In the following dialog box, decide whether you want to save the changes to the model and thus include them in the generated runtime version. See also Analysis of a Runtime Version.
The runtime version is generated.
