Use
The system provides a matrix view where you can enter the quantity of each component needed to complete a prepack article. For example, prepack A might include three of component X and two of component Y. The purchase price will be the sum of the component purchase prices.
You can also define the structure of a prepack article using quota scales linked to the column characteristic of the generic article.
You can copy a prepack article to a new prepack article with the same component structure. You can also copy an entire prepack line (size distribution) to all empty lines using the "fast copy" function.
If you specify a reference generic article on the initial screen of the transaction, the system creates the same prepacks (component structure) for the new generic article as are defined for the reference generic article, if possible.
The article master data for new prepacks is copied from the generic article. You can set up fields you want to maintain differently in Customizing. If you intend to specify such fields, you must to enter a reference prepack from which these fields will be copied. If you do not want to use a reference prepack, you can use any other article in the system.
You can maintain prepack descriptions and purchase prices for the new prepacks or change the data for existing prepacks. If you do not specify anything, the existing data is not changed, but new prepacks will inherit the default values.
New prepacks can be deleted as long as they have not yet been saved.
Integration
There are several Business-AddIns (BadI) available that enable you to control the data that the system suggests.
The component list for a prepack article can be changed even if the prepack is already used in logistics documents, provided the settings in Customizing allow it.
