Procedure documentation Creating Notifications of Stock Allocation  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

General Prerequisite

In an allocation table document, the Notification category indicator determines the type of notification that is to be created and as a result the message type (such as the request notification or a confirmation notification) for every article and site. The appropriate settings for the notification category must be made in Customizing so that communication is possible with the sites. The notifications can be transferred by EDI or print output. In both cases, message determination must be active for the notification category.

Prerequisites for Transfer by Print Output

Prerequisites for Transfer by EDI

The standard system contains the following IDocs for transferring notification information by EDI.

To send notifications by EDI, you must bear the following points in mind:

Choose Allocation table ® Communication site ® IDoc overview ® ... to display the IDocs sent (logical message type WALNOT) and received (logical message WALREQ). This provides you with the status records and segment data.

Procedure

For notifications to be created, single messages (so-called message records) are created for the sub-items in an allocation table, when the allocation table is posted.

With this transaction, single messages selected and those not yet processed are read and bundled together into their different types (such as into request notifications or confirmation notifications) as per the different sites and other criteria (transmission media, printer or promotion, for example). They are then printed as notifications or sent by EDI.

To generate notifications, proceed as follows:

  1. On the Allocation Table: Message Bundling / Notification Creation Screen select the messages you want to transfer. You can limit your selection using the following criteria.

Select the Display statistics indicator if you wish information to be displayed on the messages bundled and processed when you execute the program.

  1. Choose Program ® Execute. A window appears informing you of the number of notifications issued. Choose ENTER . If you selected the Display statistics indicator on the initial screen, these now appear.
