Editing Lookup Fields into Flat or Hierarchy

Recall that lookup fields require that you choose from a well-defined set of legal values. Lookup fields utilize single- and multi-valued drop-down lists and drop-down trees.
To select a single item for a flat lookup field:
...
1. Double-click in the applicable field or attribute or click on the down triangle to open the drop-down control (figure below).

2. Select a single item from the drop-down list.
3. Press Enter or click on the up triangle to close the drop-down control.
To select a single item for a hierarchy lookup field:
...
1. Double-click in the applicable field or click on the down triangle to open the drop-down control (figure below).

2. Select a single item from the drop-down tree.
3. Press Enter or click on the up triangle to close the drop-down control.

You can only select leaf nodes from the tree because only the value of leaf node can be assigned to a hierarchy lookup field.
To add or remove items for a multi-valued flat lookup field:
...
1. Double-click in the applicable field or attribute or click on the down triangle to open the drop-down control (figure below).

2. Select or deselect items from the drop-down list, as follows:
○ To add Available list item(s) to the Selected list, highlight them and click the Add button.
○ To remove items from the Selected list, highlight them and click the Remove button.
○ To add all of the items to the Selected list, click All.
○ To remove all of the items from the Selected list, click None.
3. Press Enter or click on the up triangle to close the drop-down control.
To add or remove items for a multi-valued hierarchy lookup field:
...
1. Double-click in the applicable field or attribute or click on the down triangle to open the drop-down control (figure below).

2. Select or deselect items from the drop-down list, as follows:
○ To add Available list item(s) to the Selected list, highlight them and click the Add button.
○ To remove items from the Selected list, highlight them and click the Remove button.
○ To add all of the items to the Selected list, click All.
○ To remove all of the items from the Selected list, click None.
3. Press Enter or click on the up triangle to close the drop-down control.
