In/Out Operations
The following sections describe the various check in and check out operations in Record mode, including:
· Checking out records exclusively
· Checking out records nonexclusively
· Checking out a new record exclusively

Check outs can be done in Record mode on the records of the main table only.
The following restrictions apply if you attempt to merge checked out records:
§ You can merge records only if none of them are checked out, or all of them are the checked out versions of checked out records
§ You cannot merge the original versions of checked out records, nor the checked out version of a record with an unchecked out record or the original of a checked out record
§ When a single surviving checked out record is checked in, the originals are then replaced with the single checked out record.
