Use

The MDM Data Manager provides a convenient way to enter timestamped comments or notes about records. You can add, review, edit, and delete log entries in a few easy steps.

Procedure

To add a new log entry:

       1.      Right-click on the text area of the log cell and choose Add from the context menu to open the Add Log Entry dialog shown in the figure below. Note that the dialog already contains a timestamp in its title.

       2.      Type in the log entry text.

       3.      Click OK when you are done to close the Add Log Entry dialog. MDM adds a new line item in the log cell for the new log entry, with the timestamp at the start of the line (figure below).

Note

Pressing Enter will not exit the dialog; rather it will insert a new line into the text of the log entry.

 

To modify a log entry:

...

       1.      Double-click on the entry you want to edit, or right-click on it and choose Modify from the context menu shown in the figure below to open the Modify Log Entry dialog (similar to the Add Log Entry dialog shown in the first figure).

       2.      Type the desired changes to the log entry text.

       3.      Click OK when you are done to close the Modify Log Entry dialog.

Note

Pressing Enter will not exit the dialog; rather it will insert a new line into the text of the log entry.

 

To delete a log entry:

Right-click on the entry and choose Delete from the context menu shown in the following figure.
