Background documentation Typeahead Seek Feature  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Typeahead seek works in a grid only on the single column that is currently the sort column, not on all of the columns at the same time. For typeahead seek to work on a particular column, first make sure that it is the sorted column before you start typing characters (for more information, see Typeahead Seek Selection).

Note

When a grid contains a hierarchy column, none of its columns will be sortable. However, the hierarchy column is automatically treated as the sorted column for typeahead seek purposes, allowing you to use typeahead seek on it.

When the sort column is a normalized field, typeahead works slightly differently depending on the number of records in the grid. With 100 records or less, non-alphanumeric characters that are typically ignored in a normalized field are significant. With more than 100 records, the non-alphanumeric characters are ignored.
