The following table lists the various ways to expand and collapse tree nodes.

Command / Description

Mouse or Keyboard Command

Expand Branch

Expands the current node (one level)

(if it is closed and if it has children)

Click the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text toolbar button.

Click the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text icon next to the node.

Double-click the name of the node.

Press + on the numeric keypad.

Press the Right arrow key

Expand Entire Branch

Expands the current node (all levels)

(if it is closed and if it has children)

Click the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text toolbar button.

Press * on the numeric keypad.

Press the Ctrl + Right arrow key

Collapse Branch

Collapses the current node if it is open.

Click the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text toolbar button.

Click the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text icon next to a node.

Double-click the name of the node.

Press – on the numeric keypad.

Press the Left arrow key
