As with most Windows programs, the commands that are available or unavailable on the MDM Client’s pull-down main menus change according to the context, that is, the current mode and where in the window you are working.

However, even though the available commands change based on what you’re doing, the set of command choices listed for each main menu item does not change. This makes it easy for you to quickly survey the functionality of the system by choosing each main menu item in turn and reviewing the commands in the corresponding drop-down menu.

By contrast, the context menu that appears when you right-click in the MDM main window is, by definition, context-sensitive, so that the set of menu items as well as which ones are available or unavailable both change depending on the current mode, where in the window you clicked, and the selected item.

Note

You can usually determine the location of the focus – and thus which menu choices will be available or unavailable – by looking for the blue highlight.

For more information about each MDM Client menu command, see Menu Command Reference.
