First Steps

Management and maintenance of operations for the SAP NetWeaver scenario Enterprise Knowledge Management are tasks for the administrator.

 

Integration

Note that you require the stand-alone engine Search and Classification (TREX) to run Enterprise Knowledge Management. For information about technical operation of TREX, see Administration of Search and Classification (TREX). For administration of the processes “Document Indexing” and “Document Classification”, you can use the TREX monitor.

In addition to the tasks listed above, you must also perform administrative tasks for the following scenarios:

Tasks

Introduction

For the Enterprise Knowledge Management scenario, you do not have to perform any scenario-specific administrative tasks.

However, you have to perform general administration tasks for each variant. The table below contains links to the documentation for the corresponding administration tasks and the associated tools.

Data Backup and Restore

There are no scenario-specific administration tasks to perform for data backup and restore for the Content Integration and Managementand Content Creation, Publication, and Access variants. The same considerations and procedures that are documented in the technical operations manual for the Knowledge Management key capability in the Administration section apply.
