Calling Content from BI in the Portal
Display of Content from BI in the Portal explains which types of content from BI can be displayed. The following sections outline the various options available to users for calling and using this content.
You can call content from BI using portal roles or KM folders.
A special feature of a KM folder is the BEx Portfolio: Calling with the BEx Portfolio
With portal roles, you navigate using the initial navigation bar and detailed navigation. To navigate in KM folders or the BEx Portfolio, you use the content area on the portal desktop.
The portal offers a variety of options for communicating and collaborating with other portal users:
In collaboration
rooms, groups of users can exchange context-based applications and
information. BI contents can also
be included. More information:
Making Rooms
Available in the Portal.
Discussions enable an exchange of ideas about specific topics
using a document in Knowledge Management. Using BEx Information Broadcasting, you can store
BEx Web applications as precalculated documents or links in Knowledge
Management. You can have
discussions based on these documents and links. More information:

Users.
In addition to
collaboration, Knowledge Management offers various functions for working with
documents. You can add
ratings, evaluations, feedback or personal notes
to documents. For more
information, see

Notifications are particularly interesting for precalculated
documents automatically generated with BEx Information Broadcasting.
