The automation tools support you in performing technical configuration and operation tasks in an automated way and thus accelerate and simplify the setup of your systems after installing and patching. They guide you through the configuration process, offer a uniform user interface for all steps, and enable you to execute configuration and operation tasks across multiple components.

The automation tools distribute the configuration:

  • At configuration time

  • To multiple configuration stores and components

  • In local systems or to multiple systems in a landscape

Depending on your automation task, use one of the following tools:

  • Configuration Wizard for Java–based configuration and operation tasks

  • Task Manager for ABAP-based configuration scenarios
