Two temporary files are created in the course of data migration:

  • Read data

  • Converted data

You have to specify the names of the two files and their file paths.

Prerequisites

You are in step Specify Files.

Procedure

File containing read data:

The path and file name is defaulted. Proceed as follows if you do not want to adopt them:

  1. Switch to change mode.

  2. Position the cursor on folder Read Data.

  3. Choose Create Entry. Dialog box Read Data: Maintain File Name appears.

  4. Enter changes as required.

  5. Choose Continue to confirm. You go back to step Specify Files.

File containing converted data:

Proceed as described above. In the Edit File name dialog box, the Logical Path and Logical File fields are additionally displayed. Using the F4 help, you can select the corresponding path as well as the corresponding file.

Result

The file paths and file names of both temporary files have been maintained.

Note Note

  • The names for the paths and files can be freely assigned on the basis of the operating system convention.

  • We recommend that you assign different extensions to the files in order to ensure that the two temporary files can be distinguished from each other.

  • If your data is stored in multiple sets of files, you can specify a wildcard (*) for the name of your file. The possible values for ‘*’ can be specified under the values for wildcard characters. See: Using Wildcards

End of the note.
