You need information about lock management so that you can make the right settings.

To call Lock Server Management in Planning Modeler (transaction RSPLAN) choose Goto and select Lock Server Management (transaction RSPLSE). The Display Planning Lock Settings screen appears.

Prerequisites

Make sure that you have the required authorizations. The authorization object for displaying and changing lock settings in planning is S_RS_PLENQ.

Features

If you are in change mode, you can make the required changes in change mode on the Lock Table and Lock Characteristics tab pages.

Tab: Lock Table

Here you specify where the lock table is stored (see Storage of Lock Tables).

Note Note

You can only change from display mode to change mode if there are no active locks for any InfoCubes, that is, if no transaction data of a planning application is locked for any InfoCube. This ensures that locked transaction data is consistent.

End of the note.
Tab: Lock Characteristics

Here you specify which characteristics are relevant for lock checks (see Selection of Lock Characteristics).

Note Note

You can only change from display mode to change mode if there are no active locks for the selected InfoCube, that is, if no transaction data of a planning application is locked for any InfoCube. This makes sure that locked transaction data remains consistent. It can therefore be difficult to find a time window for selecting the lock characteristics of a given InfoCube.

End of the note.

You can display the relevant information on the Locks,Lock Conflict and Master Locks tab pages.

Tab: Lock

Here, you display locks for a specific InfoProvider and user (see Displaying Active Locks).

Tab: Lock Conflict

The system displays information about the last lock conflict (see Analysis of Lock Conflicts).

Tab: Master Locks

You can display and delete master locks here (see Displaying Master Locks).
