The Classification Grid is the main tool for performing classifications in the Classification Toolset.
Both the Tree Browser and the List Browser provide you with an entry point to the Classification Grid.
The layout of the Classification Grid varies depending on the type of the characteristic displayed.
Layout |
Description |
Standard Layout |
The standard layout has three columns for the value of the characteristic, the text of the value, and a remark. The remark column may be omitted according to the specification of the characteristic. The value text is displayed only for characteristics with explicit values or with values from a value table which in turn has a text table. |
Layout for Implicit Classifications |
For single-valued characteristics with implicit classifications, the grid displays the explicit and the effective value. For multi-valued characteristics, all implicit values are displayed. |
Layout for Explicit Classifications |
Multi-valued characteristics with explicit values are displayed as a table with one line for each possible value. You can add remarks only for the selected values. |
Layout for Objects as Values |
Characteristics that have objects as values use up to four columns for the object description, depending on whether or not subobjects are allowed. |
The most direct entry to the Classification Grid is through the context menu entry Display/Change Classification. This menu option is valid for objects and characteristics.
For more information about the procedure of single-object classification, see Classifying Single Objects.
With the Classification Grid you can also classify multiple objects. By using mass-classification you can assign a value of a certain characteristic to many objects. For example, you can assign the value accessible of the characteristic ACCESSIBILITY to all function groups in one go.
For more information about the procedure of performing mass classification, see Classifying Multiple Objects.
