You can use this function to maintain the properties of a characteristic in the Characteristics Builder of the Classification Toolset
On the Properties tab page in the Characteristics Builder, you can maintain the following properties for a characteristic:

A short description of the characteristic (max. 60 characters) that can be translated and appears in the search help and in the Classification Browser. |
Object Type (Group) |
An object type or object type group defining the set of objects that can be classified by the characteristic. |
Refers to a Value of a Multi-Valued Characteristic |
Multi-valued characteristics can have aspects for each of their values (which means that they can refer to a value of a multi-valued characteristic). The individual aspects are single-valued characteristics with two possible values: Applies and Does Not Apply. |
Sub-Object Treatment |
The following types of links between main objects and their subobjects are possible: ... 1. Main objects and subobjects are not related. 2. Inheritance mode: the subobjects inherit the classification of the main object. 3. Delegation mode: The classification of the main objects depends on the classifications of all subobjects. |
Single-Valued |
Defines whether the characteristic may take a single value or multiple values. |
Hide Remarks |
If this option is set, no remarks are shown in the Classification Browser. |
Visible for Customers |
If this option is set, the characteristic is visible in customer systems. No classifications with respect to this characteristic can be displayed or changed. |
Changeability |
This property specifies which type of classification is allowed: ... 1. Manual: Only direct manual classification in the Classification Browser are allowed. 2. Implicit and Manual: Both manual and implicit classifications are allowed. 3. Automatic: Allows you to explicitly change the classification by means of a BAdI implementation. 4. Not Changeable: In this case the characteristic is read-only. This feature can be used for reporting purposes. |
Organization of Classifications |
This option defines to what kind of packages the classifications can be assigned: ... 1. No restriction: The characteristic can be applied to any object. 2. Local package: All classifications are stored locally. No transport is possible. This setting is mandatory if the characteristic is local. 3. Home package: The classifications can be put in any package belonging to the software component HOME. 4. Transportable package: The classifications can be put in any transportable package. 5. Package of the classified object: The classification tool automatically puts the classification in the same package as the classified object. |
