Use

You use this procedure to create, display and edit object type groups with the Object Type Group Builder in the Classification Toolset.

Procedure

Creating an Object Type Group

...

       1.      In the Repository Browser (transaction SE80), in the context menu of a package, choose Create ® Development Coordination ® Create Object Type Group or execute transaction SOTG.

       2.      In the Object type group field, enter the name of the new group and choose Create. On the next screen, enter a short description for the group.

       3.      If the object is not local, assign it to a package and a transport request.

       4.      On the Types tab page, choose the Append Line pushbutton to add as many lines as you need.

       5.      On each line you can insert an object type, object type group or a filter. To do that, use the F4help function. For more information, see Object Filters and Object Types and Object Type Groups.

The Overview object type group appears and you can choose the object type groups you need from the tree display.

Note

To switch to the tree view of the group, use the hierarchy button. Double-clicking on an object type group navigates to the group.

       6.      Save, check and activate your object type group.

Note

The activation process checks for illegal circular references between the object types. Self-references are prevented during the input process. All referenced object types must be existing ones and all referenced object type groups should be active.

Looking Up Existing Object Type Groups

The Object Type Group Builder provides you with the following options for searching object type groups:

...

       1.      Standard F4 Help. If you leave the input field of the entry screen empty, F4 displays the content of your overview group. You can also use search patterns. For example, the pattern “ACC*” returns all object type groups that start with ACC.

       2.      Overview group. The default overview group is OVERVIEW.

Note

You can define your own overview group containing the groups you use most frequently by choosing Utilities ® Settings ® Development Coordination.
