Identify the Central Monitoring System for the NW Administrator 

Use

You can use the SAP NetWeaver Administrator to display all monitoring data from the monitoring infrastructure. There are two plug-ins available that can display monitoring data from the central monitoring system (this system will be abbreviated here to CEN).

Plug-In	Meaning
Availability	You can use this plug-in to display the availability of ABAP and Java systems and their instances.
Central Reports	You can use this plug-in to display the monitors of all monitor sets of CEN.

To be able to display this data in the NW Administrator, you need to enter the connection data for CEN in the Visual Administrator of the relevant system.

Prerequisites

To display the monitoring data, CEN and all systems that are monitored by CEN must be contained in the System Landscape Directory that you use for the NW Administrator (see Connection Between SAP Web AS Java Systems and the SLD).

Procedure

To create the RFC connection to CEN, proceed as follows:

       1.      Start the Visual Administrator of the J2EE Engine on which you are using the NW Administrator.

       2.      In the navigation bar, choose Server ® Services ® JCo RFC Provider ® Runtime.

       3.      Make the following entries on the Bundles tab page:

Input Field	Meaning
Program ID	Enter the following program ID: SAP.CCMS.CEN.<SID>, where <SID> is the system ID of CEN.
Gateway host Gateway service	Enter the connection data for the CEN gateway here; by default, the gateway service uses the naming convention sapgw<System No.>.
Number of processes (1…20)	Enter 1 here.
Application server host System number	Enter the connection data for a CEN application server.
Client Language User Password	Enter the logon data for a user in CEN here. The user requires authorization to call transaction RZ20 (Alert Monitor).

       4.      To create the connection, choose the Set button.
