Service Development in the SAP Gateway Hub System
After you have made the relevant configuration settings in the SAP Business Suite backend system in which component IW_BEP is installed (SAP NetWeaver releases lower than 7.40) or in which core component SAP_GWFND is installed (SAP NetWeaver 7.40 or SAP NetWeaver 7.50 and higher), you need to make some additional configuration settings in the SAP Gateway hub system in which you intend to develop OData services.
If your SAP Gateway hub system is based on an SAP NetWeaver release lower than 7.40, you will need to install the core component IW_FND in your hub system. If your SAP Gateway hub system is based on SAP NetWever 7.40 or SAP NetWeaver 7.50 and higher, the core component SAP_GWFND is installed as standard. For more information, see Deployment Options.
