Query Results CachingLocate this document in the navigation structure

You can implement a query result ID cache for the applications you develop. This query result ID cache is the cached list of IDs in the results of a query for business objects for a consumer server application.

You configure a query result ID cache to improve the performance of the consumer server application.

When you configure caching for query result IDs, end users of the consumer server application can view the IDs of the business objects for all users; however, they cannot see or access the details of the business objects. Also, the cached IDs can be used to identify the business objects in your application.

Proceed as follows to implement a query result ID cache for your application:

  1. In transaction SPRO, open the SAP Reference IMG and navigate to the following activity: Start of the navigation path SAP NetWeaver Next navigation step SAP Gateway Next navigation step Former Development  Next navigation step Former Generic Channel Development Next navigation step Consumer Adaptation Next navigation step Object ID Cache: List Types End of the navigation path.

  2. Select the IMG-Activity icon and proceed as described in the documentation for this activity.
