Batch Determination for Inbound Deliveries
You can enable the system to check whether the batch entered in the inbound delivery document already exists in the system. To do this, you can use the No Batch Check
checkbox in the Customizing activity Define Item Categories for Deliveries
under . A batch split describes the situation where more than one batch is used to cover a particular delivery item. The batch split function in the delivery includes a batch selection screen and an availability check.
During the batch determination process for a material that is relevant for segmentation, the system proposes the new batch number according to the segmentation value entered in the document.
If you select this checkbox, the system does not update the new batch number in the document and does not perform a batch split, although the batch is relevant for segmentation. However, if the system determines an existing batch number, the system updates the batch number in the document and performs a batch split.
If you do not select this checkbox, the system determines a new batch number or an existing batch number and updates the determined batch number in the document and performs a batch split.
In inbound deliveries, the system determines the batch according to both segmentation and season (you have selected the Season Active in Inventory Management
checkbox in the article master). Seasons are displayed in the batch split screen.
For articles that are relevant for segmentation and seasons (and you have selected the Season Active in Inventory Management
checkbox in the article master), the system copies the season from the reference documents for the main item. For the batch split items, the system copies the season from the batches.
For articles that are relevant for segmentation and seasons (but you have not selected the Season Active in Inventory Management
checkbox in article master), the system only copies the season from the reference documents for main item. The batch split items do not contain seasons they only contain the segmentation value.
For articles that are not relevant for segmentation but are relevant for seasons (and you have selected the Season Active in Inventory Management
checkbox in the article master), the system does not perform an automatic batch determination and does not perform a batch split. You can manually do a batch split and the system determines the seasons according to the batch entered. The main item and the batch split items can contain the same seasons or different seasons.
For articles that are not relevant for segmentation but are relevant for seasons (but you have not selected the Season Active in Inventory Management
checkbox in the article master), the system does not perform an automatic batch determination and does not perform a batch split. You can manually do a batch split but you cannot enter the segmentation value or seasons for the batch.
For articles that are relevant for segmentation and seasons (you have selected the Season Active in Inventory Management
checkbox in the article master), if the reference document does not have segmentation or seasons, the system proposes new seasons using the BAdI BADI_SEA_SPEC_PORD_MM
. If you have not implemented the BAdI, you can propose a default segmentation or season and create a batch when you save the document.
The system proposes the default season maintained in the article master for the determined batches.
If no season is maintained in the article master, the system displays an error message as the batch cannot be created.
The system creates a new batch number according to the stock segment value entered in the reference document and season (if relevant).
