 In-Application Help Settings

What's that?

In-application help is real-time and provides information exactly when your users need it for the apps they are working with. The app-specific help is opened from within the app and displayed in a carousel, which provides, for example, access to the following types of in-application help:

  • Field help

  • How-to videos

How do users access it?

Context-sensitive means that the users can call up the help while they are working from within the app screens. When users click the question mark in the upper right corner of the screen, an overlay carousel is displayed on the app screen. This carousel has the documents and videos as tiles. Click the tiles to open the documents and videos. A visual indicator shows to which fields the documents are linked.

How do I set it up?

To make in-application help available for SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA Finance apps started from the SAP Fiori launchpad, make the necessary settings described in the general SAP Fiori Implementation Information on the SAP Help Portal under http://help.sap.com/fiori_implementationInformation published on SAP site. Look in the SAP NetWeaver 7.5 version of the “Configuration of SAP Fiori Infrastructure” document. Search for “setup of in-application help”.

Part of setting up the in-application help plugin is creating a catalog. In that catalog, you create a target mapping that needs product-specific parameters. For SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA Finance apps, you need the following special default values:

Parameter

Default Value - Version ID

Name: product

FIORI_FOR_SFIN

Name: version

3.0 005

The value for the editor should be false as explained in the documentation.
