Configuring Extended Program CheckLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

SLIN Administration provides you with a maintenance transaction for configuring the Extended Program Check (Transaction SLIN). With this transaction, you can configure the Extended Program Check, display existing settings for the relevant checks, and also access the required information within the context of your activities.

Note Bear in mind that SLIN Administration refers largely to security checks for the SAP NetWeaver Application Server, add-on for code vulnerability analysis. Security checks are enabled only after release of the product. SAP NetWeaver Application Server, add-on for code vulnerability analysis is a separate, fee-based product. Accordingly, there are additional license costs. For more details, have a look at SAP Note 1855773 Information published on SAP site. Provided you have the license for the security checks and have also activated the check module in a Code Inspector scan profile, the checks will be performed as soon as the scans are started in the ABAP Workbench. The checks then perform a static analysis of the ABAP source text and report any security risks encountered.

Procedure

  1. Call SLIN Administration from the Extended Program Check (Transaction SLIN) using the menu path Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step SLIN Administration Next navigation step  End of the navigation path. Alternatively, you can start it directly using the transaction code SLIN_ADMIN.
The system displays a list with all settings for the Extended Program Check; these are arranged semantically into groups.
  2. Expand the required group node.
  3. Select an entry and navigate to the corresponding configuration display either by clicking the hotspot link or by double-clicking the respective Execute icon.
In the displayed window you can view the selected setting and correct it, if necessary.
Note To be able to access the documentation for the individual activities, click on the respective icon in the Documentation column. Here you get important information on execution and possible configuration of the check.
