Function documentationSearch

The Search screen area for deliveries and transportation units (TUs) allows you to select either outbound delivery orders that are not yet planned onto TUs (in the screen area Deliveries) or outbound delivery orders that have been planned (in the screen area Transportation Units).

Features

The selection criteria of the Search screen area are divided into the following sections:

  • Time Period

You can search for specific dates or date intervals, such as the planned route departure date, the planned goods issue date, or the planned delivery date. You can choose a date type with a Plan from/for Day and you can also choose a Plan from Time, Plan until Day, and Plan until Time. This allows you to save a search for, for example, tomorrow’s planning, instead of entering the date every day. You can personalize your search screen so that one of the saved searches is always performed as your default search.

Some of the date selection criteria can be used also for data selection in the screen area Transportation Units. However, this does not happen by default; instead you must open the section Other and choose Filter TUs by Deliveries.

  • Delivery

You can search for unplanned and already planned outbound delivery orders. The selection criteria here can be also used for data selection in the screen area Transportation Units. However, this does not happen by default; instead you must open the section Other and choose Filter TUs by Deliveries.

The search returns the outbound delivery order header if at least one item in the outbound delivery order fulfills the selection criteria.

  • Transport

You can search using transport-relevant selection criteria for unplanned and already planned outbound delivery orders. The selection criteria here can also be used for data selection in the screen area Deliveries. However, some selection criteria such as, for example, TU, vehicle, or loading point, are not relevant for searching for unplanned outbound delivery orders.

  • Other

    • You can choose Restricted Selection to force the system to select either unplanned or planned outbound delivery orders. Choosing this option will result in better search performance, as the system will perform a query either for planned or for unplanned outbound delivery orders rather than both queries at the same time. For example, if you intend to select only unplanned outbound delivery orders, you can choose the option Deliveries.

    • You can choose Filter TUs by Deliveries if you want the system to apply the selection criteria of the section Delivery to the screen area Transportation Units.

    • You can choose to select only outbound delivery orders and their assigned TUs that have not yet started the warehouse activities.

    • You can choose EWM-Based Plan to select only outbound delivery orders and TUs that can be planned in SAP Extended Warehouse Management and do not require transportation planning from an external system.

    • You can choose Filter Empty Transportation Units to remove TUs with no assigned outbound delivery orders from the result list.

The Search screen area closes automatically after a search is executed, assuming that the user usually performs a predefined saved search. If you have performed a search and you would like to repeat the same search again, you do not need to open up the Search screen area again; instead you can choose the Search button. This triggers a search using the same selection criteria that you entered previously.
