Progress Monitoring
Progress fields provide the shipping office clerk with an immediate view of how warehouse processes are progressing. These fields help you to identify potential delays in transportation unit (TU) departure due to, for example, unfinished warehouse activities such as overdue picking warehouse tasks.
The following status fields are available for TUs:
Arrival
At Door
Loading Started
Loading Completed
Departure
These fields are displayed by means of traffic lights when the corresponding TU status is set. If no TU status has been set, the system displays a gray rectangle.
The following delivery progress fields are available:
Pick
Pack
Stage
Load
Goods Issue
These fields indicate the progress of warehouse activities such as picking, packing, staging, or loading. These values are generally the same as the corresponding statuses in the outbound delivery orders, except Pack
, which corresponds to the delivery status Shipment Packing
, rather than Packing
). In some cases, however, where the delivery status does not adequately reflect the progress from the point of view of a shipping office clerk, the progress field values may differ from the delivery status values. For example, if there is no separate staging step, the delivery status will not be set, but the progress field for staging will turn green as soon as packing is finished, because there is nothing left to do.
The progress can be also monitored by the workload data, such as the number of handling units (HUs) at a given point in the process (total number of HUs, number of loaded HUs, number of HUs to be loaded, number of HUs to be packed) and warehouse tasks (number of picking warehouse tasks, number of open or confirmed picking warehouse tasks). Note that goods-issued HUs are not counted in these fields. The workload fields may also influence the delivery progress fields. For example, if there are open picking warehouse tasks, the progress is displayed as partially completed even if the picking status in the outbound delivery order is Completed
, as can happen after certain early delivery splits. Similarly, if there are still HUs to be loaded, the loading progress is not displayed as completed.
In the case of delivery splits, the distribution status is relevant for evaluating the progress of the outbound delivery orders. It shows whether all quantities have been distributed to subitems or if there are still open quantities. The distribution status is by default not calculated, as it can considerably slow down the performance of data selection. You can calculate it by selecting Determine Distribution Status
in the Search
screen area under Other
