Automatic Creation of TUs from Outbound Deliveries
You can use the report /SCWM/R_TUDLV_AUTOPLAN_DLV
for rough transportation planning of multiple outbound delivery orders (ODOs). This report supports the Shipping Cockpit – Planning
view for planning ODOs that should be shipped on regular routes.
You want to automate planning activities for reoccurring transports (via regular routes). This report runs as a background job overnight for the ODOs that have a regular route departure scheduled for the next working day. The report creates transportation units (TUs) based on the means of transport for the route.
The morning after the report runs, the shipping office clerk opens the Shipping Cockpit – Planning
view. The ODOs for regular routes now have TU activities for the regular routes assigned to them. It is still possible to make manual changes in the shipping cockpit.
You have created a means of transport in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management
under .
You have assigned packaging materials for creating TUs to means of transport on the SAP Easy Access
screen under .
If you do not set a maximum weight and volume for the packaging material, the system assumes that there are no capacity restrictions.
You have set up routes and assigned a means of transport to each one. The routes and their means of transport are determined in the delivery header.
For more information, see Route and Route Determination in the Delivery.
Note
While the carrier in the delivery header is optional, a means of transport is mandatory. The report reads the links between the means of transport and packaging material. It considers all packaging materials of a means of transport when creating a TU. If there is no means of transport in the delivery header, the system is unable to create a TU.
The user executing the report has at least the authorizations of the user role /SCWM/SO_CLERK
or /SCWM/EXPERT
.
You can run this report as a background job or execute it directly in the foreground.
You can enter time-dependent selection criteria in the Planned Dates
section, or enter selection criteria for attributes of the ODO in the Outbound Delivery Order
section, or enter a combination of both.
The dates in Planned Dates
refer to the corresponding dates in the outbound delivery header. The selection criteria in Outbound Delivery Order
include transportation data, such as the route. For example, only deliveries for certain routes should be planned automatically. These routes should be entered here.
The only option you can configure here is the filling level. This is the percentage of weight and volume that should be filled in a TU.
By default, the level is set to 100. This means that the system will always try to fill a TU up to 100%. Valid values for the filling level are between 0 and 100.
The protocol is written under the object /SCWM/SHP_RCV
when the report is run.
You can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) Automatic Creation of TU Activity and Delivery Assignment
to add custom logic to the automatic planning.
You can alter the TU creation and delivery assignments that the standard system proposes. You can also build custom TUs with delivery assignments. For more information, see the documentation for this BAdI in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management
under .
To use this report with SAP ERP routes, you can use BAdIs to transfer information such as carrier and means of transport in the transport aspect of the ODO. Once this information is available in the delivery header, the report can plan ODOs with SAP ERP routes.
