Warehouse Task Creation

When picking, the alternative unit of measure (AUoM) of the outbound delivery order item has no influence on the warehouse task (WT), so the system does not prioritise looking for stock which has the same AUoM as the outbound delivery item. You can use a stock removal strategy to pick stock which is not in the preferred AUoM first.

Note Note

If you want to the stock removal strategy to take the AUoM of the outbound delivery order item into account, you must use the Business Add-In (BAdI) Filtering and/or Sorting of Quants, which you can find in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management under Start of the navigation path Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) for Extended Warehouse Management Next navigation step Goods Issue Process Next navigation step Strategies Next navigation step Stock Removal Strategies End of the navigation path. You can set up a custom implementation for this BAdI to filter and sort quants with respect to the outbound delivery order item's UoM.

End of the note.

The system takes the AUoM of the available quantity when creating a WT. The system also tries to determine which AUoM is best suited for WT execution. If a quantity equivalent to a whole pallet is to be removed, the system creates a WT with the AUoM for a pallet. The system decides whether to use another AUoM for the WT according to the quantity for the WT or to the quantity classification that is maintained in the WT's source storage type and in the product master. If the product has a packaging specification, the system uses the AUoM from the packaging level which fits the WT. If there is no packaging specification, the system attempts to determine an AUoM by checking the product master for the AUoM's conversion factors. This is done in the default implementation of the BAdI Change of HU Quantity, which you can find in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management under Start of the navigation path Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) for Extended Warehouse Management Next navigation step Goods Issue Process Next navigation step Strategies Next navigation step Stock Removal Strategies End of the navigation path.

Note Note

In the transaction Stock Removal for Outbound Delivery Order, the AUoM in the tab Stk Can Be Removed is the AUoM of the outbound delivery item and not the AUoM of the available quantity.

End of the note.
Warehouse Task Confirmation

During WT confirmation, you can change the AUoM of the WT. If the AUoM is stock-specific (as set in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management under Start of the navigation path Master Data Next navigation step Product Next navigation step Define Unit of Measurement Attributes End of the navigation path), this AUoM is stored in the destination quant. Otherwise the AUoM of the source quant is used as the AUoM of the destination quant. If the quantity of the source quant is less than 1 in the AUoM, the AUoM is changed to the base UoM. You can also change the AUoM of the quant with the BAdI Changing Quant Attributes During WT Confirmation, which you can find in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management under Start of the navigation path Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) for Extended Warehouse Management Next navigation step Cross-Process Settings Next navigation step Warehouse Task Next navigation step Confirmation of Warehouse Task End of the navigation path.

If the moved stock has a stock-specific UoM and the delivery item type of the outbound delivery order is marked with Update Delivery Item SUoM (in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management under Start of the navigation path Goods Issue Process Next navigation step Outbound Delivery Next navigation step Manual Settings Next navigation step Define Item Types for Outbound Delivery Process End of the navigation path), the outbound delivery item is updated with the AUoM of the stock.

If the full delivery item quantity is confirmed, the main item is updated with the AuoM of the stock. If only a partial quantity is picked, or multiple AuoMs are picked, subitems are created with the corresponding AUoM. For more information, see Batch-Managed Products and UoM Split in Delivery.
