
Usually, you run local checks synchronously, while you wait.
But you can also run an ATC check in the background processing system. That way, you can continue with your work while the ATC check runs.
To run an ATC check in the background, do the following:
Select the repository object to check. For example, you might want to check the contents of a package in the navigation panel of transaction SE80.
Choose Check > ABAP Test Cockpit with ...
In the following screen, switch to the Options tab to change the execution mode of the ATC check run.
Choose Execution in batch mode to run the ATC check in the background.
Click on Execute Checks in the toolbar to start ATC check run.
The ATC reports that the check run has been scheduled in the background processing system.
Use System > Own Jobs to see when the ATC job is finished. The name of your ATC job starts with the prefix ATC: .
Display the completed check run in the ATC Result Browser in transaction SE80.
Switch the selection field in the navigation panel to Check runs belonging to user in order to see your local check runs.
