Creating Activation VariantsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Procedure

To create an Activation Variant, you only have to specify a name and a description. The name must be unique in the system and consist of a character string with no more than 30 characters. The description can be up 80 characters long. Unlike the name, the description can be changed at a later stage.

In addition to the required fields, Name and Description, you can assign different Checkpoint Groups and Compilation Units to the activation variant and set the desired operation mode.

To simplify the selection of checkpoint groups and compilation units, the Copy menu is available with the following functions

  • Activation variant

  • Packet

  • Checkpoint Groups to Component

  • Checkpoint Groups to Program

  • Checkpoint Groups to Class

  • Checkpoint Groups to Function Group

By choosing Activation variant you can display all objects of another local or global activation variant and, if necessary, copy them to the current activation variant

If you choose Package, the system display all checkpoint groups and compilation units assigned to the relevant package.

Each checkpoint group is assigned to a specific application component via its package assignment. The can display and copy these groups by choosing Checkpoint Groups to Component.

Checkpoint groups used in a specific program, class, or function group can also be selected by choosing the relevant functions.

If a compilation unit is specified, the set operation mode is valid for all checkpoints contained in the relevant compilation unit, regardless of the individual checkpoint group assignment and set modes.
