Function documentationIntegration of ERP Deliveries in Shipping and Receiving

 

Shipping and receiving offers features to create transportation units (TUs) or vehicles in SAP EWM based on transport information contained in SAP ERP inbound or outbound deliveries. With this integration, you can plan the transportation process for deliveries in SAP ERP without using shipments in SAP ERP.

Prerequisites

You must ensure that the following prerequisites are met:

  • The DTU status Assign Transportation Unit is active for the delivery type and item type used in SAP EWM.

  • The PPF action /SCWM/WHR_CREATE_VEHICLE is active in the action profile assigned to the delivery type in SAP EWM.

  • When creating a delivery in SAP ERP, you enter a means of transport type and a means of transport ID in the delivery header.

  • You have created a link between the means of transport derived from the SAP ERP means of transport type and the TU packaging material. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Extended Warehouse Management Next navigation step Settings Next navigation step Shipping and Receiving Next navigation step Link Between Packaging Material (TU) and Means of Transport End of the navigation path. This setting determines whether SAP EWM creates a vehicle or a transportation unit.

Features

  • Receipt of an inbound delivery from SAP ERP in SAP EWM.

    SAP EWM receives an inbound delivery notification as a result of inbound deliveries created in SAP ERP. SAP EWM uses the inbound delivery notification to create an inbound delivery. In this process, SAP EWM copies the transport information from the SAP ERP delivery to the delivery notification and from the notification to the inbound delivery.

  • Receipt of an outbound delivery from SAP ERP in SAP EWM.

    SAP EWM receives an outbound delivery request as a result of outbound deliveries created in SAP ERP. SAP EWM uses the outbound delivery request to create an outbound delivery order. In this process, SAP EWM copies the transport information from the SAP ERP delivery to the delivery request and from the request to the outbound delivery order.

  • Automatic creation of a transportation unit or a vehicle.

    When creating an inbound delivery or an outbound delivery order, SAP EWM checks if the conditions are met for the PPF action /SCWM/WHR_CREATE_VEHICLE to be processed. If the conditions are met, SAP EWM creates a transportation unit or a vehicle, depending on the settings (see above section), and automatically assigns the delivery to the TU or vehicle.
