Transportation Unit Appointment
Transportation Unit (TU) Appointment is a persisting object, which reserves certain physical transportation unit resource for a period of time. Additionally the TU-appointment has a set of status (such as, checked-in, loading started, etc.) and actions, which can be triggered on it (post check in, etc.). The TU-appointment allows planning and execution of yard processes. The TU-appointment has further one of the following states: planned, active, executed, invalidated. For one physical TU resource there may be not more than 1 TU-appointment with the state: active (when the physical vehicle actually is checked in yard). The TU appointment defines planed start and end time slots, and executed start and end time points. The vehicle-appointment may be connected to 1…N TU-appointments for a certain period of time. This assignment corresponds the planning or actual state of physical connection between the physical vehicle resource and the physical TU resource. The TU-appointment may be connected to 0..N door-appointments for a certain period of time. This assignment corresponds the planning or actual state of docking on the physical door.

business object enables the planning and management of yard processes using transportation unit appointments. Specifically, the
operations of the Transportation Unit Appointment
business object are used as follows:
To query and retrieve information that provides an overview of a transportation service provider’s transportation units, including their load completion status
To notify a third party system of transportation unit appointment changes (such as creation, change or deletion)
To maintain transportation units. It is possible to check in, check out or move a transportation unit within the yard (dock to a door or a parking space). It is also possible to assign or reassign deliveries.
To support these operations, the transportation unit appointments must be created in the back-end system.
A transportation unit appointment can include the following data:
Deliveries and handling units (HUs)A transportation unit appointment can reference either inbound or outbound deliveries.
Physical connection between vehicle and transportation unit A transportation unit appointment is connected to a vehicle appointment for a certain period of time. This assignment corresponds to the planned or actual state of a physical connection between a physical vehicle resource and a physical transportation unit resource. For example, a transportation unit can be connected to door appointments for a certain period of time. The assignment then corresponds to the planned or actual state of docking on a physical door.

business object does not contain operations that support creation of transportation unit appointments. The Shipping and Receiving
component of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) must be active.The authority checks for the Process Transportation Unit
(/SCWM/TU) transaction are also valid for this business object.
