Staging Area Planning
You can use staging area planning to monitor at which time staging areas or bays are blocked for staging. This supports you in assigning staging areas to your transportation units (TUs). You can use the Switch Display
button to switch between a table view (with one line for every time slot blocked) and a graphical view. The system does not automatically update the staging area plan when you change TUs in the shipping cockpit; you use the Load Staging Area Plan
button to see the current plan for the selected date.
The WT Generic
field of your staging storage type (or staging area group) is used to determine whether staging areas or staging bays are displayed. If this field is set to Not Generic
, the system displays staging bays. Otherwise, staging areas are displayed.
The time slot blocked by a TU is calculated based on the planned times of the TU and the TU profile. The end time of the time slot is always the same as the planned departure time of the TU. If no TU profile is found, the system uses the planned arrival time as the start time of the time slot. If a TU profile is found, the system calculates the start time by subtracting the staging area block duration from the planned departure time.
The staging areas or staging bays blocked by a TU are the staging areas or staging bays of the outbound delivery orders that are assigned to the TU.
