Business Context and Use

The Change Transportation Unit Appointment (asynchronous) inbound operation is a request to Site Logistics Processing to change an existing transportation unit appointment.

Related Operations

The Confirm Change Transportation Unit Appointment (asynchronous) outbound operation sends a response to the request of the (asynchronous) Change Transportation Unit Appointment inbound operation.

If you want to work with synchronous rather than asynchronous operations, you can use the synchronous Change Transportation Unit Appointment  inbound operation. If you use the synchronous operation, you can use the asynchronous Notify of Transportation Unit Appointment Change outbound operation to inform the external system about changes to transportation unit appointments.

Features

You can use this inbound operation to perform to following actions:

  • Change the appointment data (planned processing period) of a transportation unit

  • Assign or reassign inbound or outbound deliveries or delivery items to the transportation unit

  • Move a transportation unit to checkpoints, parking spaces, and doors within the yard.

The request message specifies the following data as input:

  • Yard resource appointment ID of the transportation unit appointment

  • Transportation unit appointment type code to change the direction (inbound or outbound) of the transportation unit appointment

The transportation unit appointment type code (448 = inbound, 449 = outbound) makes it possible to change the direction of the transportation unit as long as no deliveries are assigned.

  • Planned start of processing period

  • Planned end of processing period

  • Gross weight

  • Property information (alternative transportation unit identification)

  • Planned yard bin

It is derived from the warehouse number and the yard bin of the checkpoint, parking space, or door. By providing a planned yard bin you can create a warehouse task to move the transportation unit to a checkpoint, a parking space, or door.

  • Yard bin

It is derived from the warehouse number and the yard bin of the checkpoint, parking space, or door. By providing a yard bin you can confirm the warehouse task to move the transportation unit to a checkpoint, a parking space, or door.

  • Inbound or outbound delivery references with delivery IDs and delivery item IDs to assign or reassign deliveries or delivery items

The action code of the inbound and outbound delivery reference structure is used, where 1 means assign and 2 means reassign.

Error Handling

The Change Transportation Unit Appointment  (asynchronous) inbound operation supports Forward Error Handling . Errors of the error category DCE (Determination and Conversion Error) might occur.

Message Types

  • Transportation Unit Appointment Change Request

Prerequisites

The transportation unit appointment already exists and has the status "planned" or "active".

To move a transportation unit in the yard, the transportation unit must have the status "active".

Before changing the details of a transportation unit appointment, you must set an external lock on it with the External Lock inbound operation.
