Executing a Trace in Dialog

Use this procedure to run a program or transaction interactively. You can call the operations you want to trace. You can also turn the trace on and off interactively.

1. On the In Dialog screen area, choose between one of the following:

   • Transaction

   • Program:

   • Function Module

2. In the corresponding input field, enter the name of the transaction, program, or function module to be measured.

3. To have the measurement results displayed automatically after you end the measurement, select the Eval. Immediately checkbox.

   If you do not select this checkbox, then the measurement waits for you on the Evaluate tab. In this case, you can execute a second measurement immediately.

4. Choose Execute.

   Perform the actions in the transaction or program that you want to trace.

   You can turn the trace on and off yourself to capture only part of the program in the trace. You must have selected this option in the variant, otherwise the trace starts automatically when you click Execute.

5. End the trace by leaving the transaction or report normally, with the Back or Exit button.
