Warehouse Request of the Posting Change TypeThis warehouse request defines the changes in stock key of a product in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM).
The warehouse request of the posting change type is a document that you use in SAP EWM for the following posting changes:
For unplanned posting changes without reference to a posting change request. In other words, for a process triggered inside the warehouse.
For planned posting changes with reference to a posting change request. In other words, for a process triggered outside the warehouse.
SAP ERP triggers this when it sends a delivery message to SAP EWM.
For more information, see Interfaces for Communication from EWM to SAP ERP.
You can also execute posting changes directly without using a warehouse request.
For the structural description of a warehouse request, see Warehouse Request.
You or SAP ERP trigger the posting change externally. In this case, SAP ERP sends a delivery message to SAP EWM. SAP EWM then creates a posting change request.
SAP EWM can execute the posting change directly upon creation of a warehouse request of the posting change type. You can recognize this in the goods movement status of the warehouse request. Planned posting changes, which are based on a warehouse request, can also have an associated warehouse task for a stock transfer. For example, if you want to execute a posting change from unrestricted-use stock to blocked stock, a physical stock transfer may also be necessary due to the warehouse structure. SAP EWM creates a warehouse task for this stock transfer.
