Delivery Processing with Transportation Integration
Delivery processing offers features to integrate Extended Warehouse Management
(EWM) with the Transportation
(LE-TRA
) component of SAP ERP. With this integration, you can control and monitor the entire
transportation process from the planning stage to the goods receipt at the customer location or your own plant.
Delivery processing offers you the following features:
Outbound deliveries and outbound delivery orders that are relevant for transportation planning in SAP ERP are not relevant for transportation cross-docking in EWM (see Transportation Cross-Docking (TCD)).
In case of a late split of an outbound delivery order by means of a process code or item deletion, the system does not automatically take over the TU assignment from the old outbound delivery order to the new outbound delivery order.
The following screens display the transportation planning type, which indicates the system that is responsible for the transportation planning:
Inbound delivery header
Inbound delivery notification header
Outbound delivery header
Outbound delivery order header
Outbound delivery request header
Upon an update of TU information to delivery, the system starts a new staging area and door determination based on the new transportation information such as carrier, means of transport, handling unit type of the TU packaging material.
When a door is assigned to an item, the system redetermines the staging area by using the assigned door.
The Blocked (Transp. Plan)
status on delivery header and item level blocks EWM execution as long as transportation planning results aremissing. Depending on your Customizing, you can manually release a delivery for execution in EWM before the results
of the transportation planning are available. For more information, see Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management
under or .
If you want to process your delivery without waiting for the TU assignment, you do not need to use the status Blocked (Transp. Plan)
.
The Transport Plan
status indicates whether a transportation plan exists for an inbound delivery, similarly to the status of an outbound delivery order.
