Checking the Product Master Data 

Use

If you receive an inbound delivery and specify master data, Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) automatically checks in the background if the product master data was already checked. EWM executes this check before you post the goods receipt.

Integration

EWM only performs this check for inbound deliveries.

Prerequisites

You have set the Insp.Prod. indicator in Customizing for EWM so that EWM checks the product master data. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for EWM under Goods Receipt Process → Inbound Delivery → Manual Settings → Define Item Types for Inbound Delivery Process.

Features

When EWM generates an inbound delivery, it automatically checks a product in the background to see whether the product master data was already checked, corresponding to Customizing for EWM.  You can always post the goods receipt. If the check is negative, that is, if the product master data was not yet checked, you receive a corresponding warning message.

Activities

If required, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Extended Warehouse Management → Master Data → Product → Maintain Product. In the group box checked by, choose  Set check to confirm the product master data check; for example, for dimension and weight.
