Defining Report Groups and Budgeting

You want to define report groups and budgeting groups and then define a hierarchy assignment between managers and maintenance planners. The complete hierarchy assignment should be represented in this hierarchy.
Assign the appropriate authorizations in the master records of the people involved in the budgeting process.

1. In the BW-BPS system, call up the processing of InfoObjects. Choose Modeling ® Object Maintenance ® Info Object, and call up the following characteristics:
¡ Characteristic 0REPORT_GRP
Create report groups.
¡ Characteristic 0budget_grp
Define identical budgeting groups, that is, budgeting groups for which the characteristic values are identical.
2. Create only one hierarchy for the report groups.
a. Call up the Hierarchy tab page in the 0Report_grp characteristic.
b. Choose Edit Hierarchy.
c. In the dialog box, choose Create Hierarchy.
d. Create a text node as the highest-level node.
e. Mark the text node and then choose Add as First Child, then Create Report Group.
f. If necessary, create more lower-level hierarchy nodes.
You have created a hierarchy that contains all the characteristics that were previously defined.
