Business Context and Use

You create outbound deliveries in SAP ERP based on delivery proposals received, for example, from an external transportation management system (TMS). The Confirm Outbound Delivery as Bulk operation informs the requesting system whether delivery creation was successful, and provides information about the delivery items. It also provides information about order items for which deliveries could not be created.

A confirmation sent by this operation relates to deliveries created by the Create Outbound Delivery as Bulk operation.

Features

The Create Outbound Delivery as Bulk  operation receives requests to create outbound deliveries for preceding documents such as sales orders or purchase orders. The Confirm Outbound Delivery as Bulk  sends the following information to the system that requested the creation of the outbound deliveries:

  • Information about deliveries that have been created in SAP ERP (including item and quantity data) and a link between each delivery item and the corresponding item in the preceding order.

  • An error log entry for each order item for which a delivery item could not be created, and a link between the error log entry and the corresponding item in the preceding order.

Note that the elements in the Confirm Outbound Delivery as Bulk operation are also part of the Create Outbound Delivery as Bulk  operation. Therefore, in the requesting system, you do not have to create separate mapping for creating and confirming deliveries.

This operation is not compatible with SAP Transportation Management 7.0 (SAP TM 7.0).
