Business Context and Use

The Intracompany Transportation Requesting Out outbound service interface groups operations that send purchase order data and stock transport order data to an external transportation management system (TMS). The external TMS can be used to carry out transportation planning for the orders.

Constraints

The operations in this interface are not compatible with SAP Transportation Management 7.0 (SAP TM 7.0).

Notes on SAP Implementation

Business Functions

To transfer purchase order data and stock transport order data to an external TMS, you have to activate the following business functions:

  • ERP-TMS: Order Integration (LOG_TM_ORD_INT) - This enables you to make the Customizing settings that control the transfer of data to an external TMS.

  • Integration External Warehouse Management System, Enterprise Services (LOG_ESOA_OPS_3)

You can also activate the SOA Reuse Functions (FND_SOA_REUSE_1) business function, which enables you to use Web Services Reliable Messaging (WSRM) for direct point-to-point communication between the SAP ERP system and the external TMS.

Configuration

In Customizing for Logistics General under Integration with an External Transportation Management System, you have defined which order types are to be transferred to an external TMS.

In addition, you have set up the workflow that is used to trigger the Request Transportation Request  operation from a Purchase Order business object. In transaction SWETYPV, you have created an event type linkage between workflow WS53800008 and processing class CL_SE_PUR_PO_WF_OUT for the events CREATED and CHANGED. For more information, see the documentation of the Customizing activity Activate Transfer of Purchase Orders in Customizing for Logistics General under Integration with an External Transportation Management System.
