Creating Rules for an Event
You can create one or several rules for an event. In the application the system processes all rules as soon as the event is called (see also Rule Definition).
You can create these rules directly in the event (this is described here). However, you can also create a rule by means of a rule set for an event (see Creating Rules for a Rule Set).
The event for which you want to create rules is called in your application.
You have registered the event with the BRF.
You have created the expressions and actions that are needed for the rule.
In the context menu of the event for which you want to create rules, choose Change Rules for Event.
In the Rules section, choose
(Add Rule).
If one or more rules has already been defined for an event, you can add the new rule to the list of rules in the appropriate place.
Proceed as follows:
Select the rule in front of which you want to add the new rule
Choose
(Insert Rule).
Enter the expression for the rule.
Enter the action for the rule.
Here you only ever define abstract actions (for information about the differentiation between abstract and concrete actions, see Action).
If necessary, you can enter a gate expression for the rule.
We recommend that you set the two indicators Single Instance Mode and Multi-Instance Mode.
If necessary, you can enter a validity period of rules.
Save your entries.
When the event is called in the application, the system processes all rules that are assigned to this event either directly or by means of a rule set.
The sequence in which the system processes the rules depends on the following:
If you create several rules for an event, the system processes the rules in the order in which they have been entered in the Rules section.
If you create rules for an event by means of one or more rule sets, the BRF has no default for whether the system processes the single rules first or the rules of a rule set.
The system processes the rules of a rule set in the order in which they have been entered in the rule set.
