You can send an object as an attachment of a message. The recipients can access the object by calling the attachment. The attachments of the object are not sent with it. However, the recipients can access the attachments using the attachments list in the object display.

The message is confidential as standard. Therefore, only you and the recipient are able to display the message. In this case, the message is also not displayed to other users in the sent documents overview.

Your administration can forbid the sending of confidential messages to external addresses. You then have to change the sensitivity of the message from confidential to standard or functional if you want to send the message to an external recipient (for example, an Internet address). Note that other users are able to display messages that are marked as standard or functional.

Procedure

  1. In the Toolbox of the object services, choose .

  2. Choose Sending Object with a Note.

    The send screen is displayed.

  3. Enter the recipient and each relevant Recipient Type.

  4. You can assign the send attribute Express and Copy or Blind Copy to every recipient.

  5. Go to the Send Options tab, if required.

    • Add additional send attributes (send in background, no forwarding)

      Background sending is recommended when sending to a large number of recipients.

    • Make the setting that stores the message in your outbox after sending

    • Make the setting when sending internally so that the message is sent at a later point in time

    • Make the setting when sending externally to determine what type of send status will trigger a confirmation (for example, only when there are send errors)

    Adding a PC document as an attachment:

    1. Choose .

      A dialog box with the directory structure of your PC is displayed.

    2. Call the directory in which the document is located.

    3. Select the document by double-clicking.

  7. Choose .

Result

The document is sent to all recipients entered. The recipients can call the object in the attachment of the document, provided that they have access over the intranet or Internet to the SAP System in which the object is located.

For information on the send progression of the document, you can call the Sent Documents and from there go to the recipient list of the document.
