Structure of the Display in the Operating
System Monitor
The operating system monitor is a one-screen transaction that has as few additional menus as possible. This makes operation significantly easier and more intuitive.

Simply put, the operating system monitor display consists of three parts:
● Data Source (top left)
In this part, you define the host from which you want to display operating system data.
● Analysis Views (bottom left)
In this part, you define the time period and topic area for which you want to display operating system data.
● Output Area (right)
The operating system data that matches your selection in the above areas is displayed here.
The individual screen elements of the operating system monitor have the following meanings:
In this area, you specify the hosts for which you want to display operating system data in the output area. To do this, choose one of the available systems, instances, or hosts. When you do so, the system displays the data for the host(s) on which the corresponding system or instance is running. More information: Selecting Operating System Data of Systems, Instances, and Hosts.
In this area, you determine which data you want to display from the selected data source:
●
You can specify the
period for which you want to display the collected data:
Snapshot,
Previous Hours, or
History. More information: Selecting Current
Values and History of Operating System Data.
● You can determine which topic area of the operating system data you want to display.

The CPH is
the “long-term memory” of the monitoring performance data and
therefore the source of the data that is displayed in the
History subtree in the operating system monitor. More
information: Displaying and
Changing CPH Settings in the Operating System Monitor.
The text history allows you to keep a history of displayed values for text attributes. More information: Displaying and Changing Text History Settings.
