In the Kernel user menu, you can find a display of the current kernel log.

The messages output in the knldiag kernel log support you when you interpret the events that occurred since the database system was started.

Procedure

Open the Database Assistant (transaction DB50) or the liveCache Assistant (transaction LC10). Choose   Problem Analysis   Messages   Kernel   Current  .

The messages display is a component of the DBA Cockpit and can therefore also be called as follows:

  1. Open DBA Cockpit (transaction DBACOCKPIT).

  2. The display options in DBA Cockpit vary depending on which SAP NetWeaver release you are using.

    • Choose   Diagnosis   Messages   Kernel Messages   Current Messages  .

    • SAP NetWeaver 7.1: Choose   Diagnosis   Kernel Messages   Current  .

Result

The system displays the current log (kernel log knldiag).

You can use the navigation help (Start of File, End of File, Start of Write Cycle, Current Write Position) for orientation within the message files.

Choose Import File to update the output.
