To implement Handheld Applications in the Composite Development Scenario using the NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI), you require these development components of type Mobile Applications for Handhelds in your project:

  • At least one Mobile Service Component

  • At least one Mobile UI Component

  • Mobile Java Component (optional)

  • A Mobile Application (optional)

    Note Note

    In the Compact Development Scenario, only a Mobile UI Component is required.

Prerequisites

You have created a project using the Mobile Applications for Handhelds perspective of SAP NetWeaver Development Studio.

Procedure

  1. In the Mobile Application for Handhelds perspective of the SAP NetWeaver Development Studio, click the New icon and, depending on which development component you want to create, choose:

    • Mobile Service Component

    • Mobile UI Component for Handhelds

    • Mobile Application

    • Mobile Java Component

    Alternatively you can choose   File   New   and the appropriate component type.

  2. In the New Development Componentdialog box, expand the component tree and click Next.

  3. Maintain the component details:

    Field Name

    Description

    User Action and Comments

    Vendor

    Globally unique vendor ID, such as sap.com

    We recommend that you obtain the vendor ID from the vendor's internet domain.

    Name

    Unique name of the DC

    DC names must always be in lower case and should not exceed 9 characters.

    Caption

    Name by which the IDE identifies the DC in visual tools

    Language

    Storage and display language of the UI elements

    Domain

    Business domain, for which you are creating the DC

    Keep DC local for now

    Local DC assignment until indicated otherwise

    There is no assignment to DTR activity.
