You this procedure to monitor the exchange of messages taking place through the web-service eventing channel. The simple object access protocol (SOAP) message monitoring tool allows you to perform:

  • Basic searches to search for messages that belong to a particular user.

  • Advanced searches to search for messages that have specific criteria. For example, a device, MEC, direction of the SOAP message, user, MBO ID, time, and date.

You can monitor SOAP messages in different views as described below:

  • The standard views allow you to view the default information.

  • The personalized views allow you to view necessary information based on your requirements.

You must use the following URL to launch the SOAP message monitoring tool:

https://<ipaddress>:<portnumber>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/sdoe_session_mon

Prerequisites

The SAP_SDOE_ESDBR_DWLD role must be assigned to your user to allow you to monitor the SOAP messages.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SAP NetWeaver Application Server.

  2. Choose Session monitoring for MEC.

  3. On the Eventing Web Service Monitoring screen, enter the user name.

  4. Specify the criteria for search and choose Start Search.

  5. If you want to view details of a particular message, choose the corresponding row from the list of messages and choose theMessage Details tab.

  6. If you want to view the XML format of the message, choose View Message.

  7. If you want to view the trace of a message, choose the corresponding row from the list of messages and choose the Logs & Traces tab.
