Creating ILM-Compliant ArchiveLink References in the RW System
In addition to transferring the archive files of a legacy system to the RW system, you can also transfer the related ArchiveLink links to attachments and print lists. To be able to store these links for the required periods, in the RW system, you use the ILM rules to generate ArchiveLink references to the attachments and print lists stored in a Content Repository. The ArchiveLink references are empty resources in the ILM store hierarchy. Their purpose is to keep the properties of the ArchiveLink documents specified by ILM rules in the ILM store.
You have prepared the legacy system and you have transferred the Content Repository definitions to the RW system.

ArchiveLink references with ILM properties (such as the expiration date) are stored in the ILM store hierarchy. Use the ILM Store Browser for SRS-Based Stores or the ILM Store Browser for XML DAS-Based ILM Stores to check whether ILM properties have been stored for attachments (hierarchy node al
) or print lists (hierarchy node dl
).
Note
You can define ArchiveLink references to attachments and print lists from the legacy system only once. In the RW system, you can also create new print lists (but no attachments) and define retention periods for them.
