Function documentation Scheduling the Goods Receipt Processing Time  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Usage

When creating a planned order, you can instruct the system to take the goods receipt processing time into account during scheduling (that is, the goods receipt processing time you defined in the product master for the product being planned). The goods receipt processing time is added to the end time of the activity on the last line resource. This then gives the end time (availability date) of the planned order.

Integration

The goods receipt processing time is also taken into account when using the PP/DS heuristics.

Goods receipt processing is defined as a separate activity in the activity list of the planned order which you can access from the product view, for example.

Prerequisites

You have specified the goods receipt processing time in workdays in the GR/GI tab page of the product master. You can also use decimal points when specifying this value – such as 0.06 days, for example.

You have created a Handling resource.

You create handling resources as calendar resources using the resource categoryHandling Unit. In the resource maintenance, you have specified the factory calendar valid for the resource and in the Time-Continuous Capacity tab page, you have specified the operating time of the resource. You can also define a shift sequence and assign it to the active variant of the resource. In this case, you use the operating time defined in the shift sequence for scheduling the handling resource.

You have assigned the handling resource of the location in the Resources tab page in the Inbound Resource field.

You must have defined requirements-based planning in model mix planning for the procedure to be used.

Features

The goods receipt processing time is specified in workdays. The system converts the specified number of days into hours (for example 2 days = 48 hours). In scheduling, the system reads the factory calendar you assigned to the handling resource to determine the working days of the goods receipt area. Then the system reads the operating time of the handling resource and the processing time is distributed over the workdays starting with the end of the activity on the last line resource. The end time of the activity “goods receipt processing” is used as the end time of the order. The planned quantity is available by this time.

Example

Goods receipt processing time: 1 day (= 24 hours)

Operating time of the handling resource: Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (8 hours working time per day)

End of last order activity: Thursday 03.13.2003 at 12.00 p.m.

Scheduling for the goods receipt processing time is executed as described below:

The end time of the goods receipt processing is Tuesday 03.18.03 at 12.00 pm.  This time is used as the end time of the planned order.
